New in this week... Branding and Stationery for Riverside
I'm excited to share the branding we worked on for Riverside Insurance Brokers because quite simply, it's one of my favourite logos that we've worked on recently. The brief from the team at Riverside was to create a corporate but approachable look; given that the majority of their business comes from SME's it was important to create an image which looked serious and professional without being off-putting. Their brand new premises next to the river Medway in Tonbridge was an exciting move for the team, and combined with their company name they felt it was important to give a nod to the river/water theme without being too obvious. Derek has drawn some lovely graphics to reflect this idea, and this illustration has come to form a big part of the companies branding. Have a look at the finished stationery (which was printed onto a lovely textured conqueror stonemarque paper, in case you're wondering ;-) ):
As with all branding projects, we put forward a number of proposals to show how different ideas might look. Sometimes an idea which seems great at first doesn't work so well on paper - but exploring all of these and refining elements from various options is all part of the process. Here are some of our concepts which didn't quite make the cut:
You can see we've developed the graphics from the second concept with the blue box and sans-serif font to give us the final logo. We're so proud of this logo that we've entered it into a design competition - I'll let you know how we get on! Either way, the guys at Riverside love the logo and have received lots of compliments from clients on their branding. And if the client is happy - and their customers are happy - well, our job is done!
