Your brand personality: Winter

Colour Psychology - the properties of Winter by Ditto Brand Stylists, brand design Sevenoaks, Kent We're coming to the end of my colour psychology series - I do hope you've found it interesting! I'd really love to know if any of the seasons have resonated with you. If not, then perhaps you're a Winter personality?

Winter is a tough season in the natural world – it’s the most extreme season of the year and you have to be pretty hardy to last the distance. Sub-zero temperatures, bleak landscapes with strong silhouettes and clear, light colours are key for Winter.

Winter personalities tend to be focussed, driven and ambitious. They’re decisive, self-assured and practical with a huge amount of self discipline – they love to be in control (precision and fine details are very important to them) and achieve their goals. Winter is a season of drama, and so too are Winter businesses fairly dramatic: either very hedonistic or incredibly grounded. Sevenoaks-based mortgage advisors Prospect Financial are a Winter business - their precise, logical, focussed and practical approached is absolutely typical of the traits of a Winter personality.

Winter personalities can sometimes be perceived as uncaring of others – they tend to have a direct and self centred attitude that can be slightly off-putting. They don’t suffer fools gladly – but you’ll always know where you stand with a Winter personality. In business, this tends to be no bad thing!

Key characteristics Strong, dynamic, dramatic, focussed, uncompromising, theatrical, opulent, glamorous, luxurious, grounded, precise, logical, ambitious, direct, decisive, visionary.

Colours Cool, strong and clear. Winter is the only season that contains pure black and pure white - neons are also at home in the Winter colour palette.
