Who we are...

Ditto is a Kent based branding and design agency run by father and daughter team, Derek and Hannah, and Hannah’s hubby and partner in crime, Dan. Hiring us is like becoming one of the family - we’ll celebrate with you, push you to be your best and work our socks off to give your business the brand it deserves. We’re your flag-waving supporters, cheer-er on-ers, your design crew and your business allies. We promise you a challenging and inspiring journey which you won't look back from.

Ditto’s genuine enthusiasm for their work and mine always makes me feel inspired by my business
— Paul Sanders

Our studio is an eighteenth century Oast House based on North Frith Farm – a 400 acre estate with woodland, farmland and a lake nestled amongst the rolling Kent countryside. We head into the woods daily; our surroundings are a constant source of inspiration that endlessly shift as one season runs into the next.

We're honoured to say that our work has been featured in best-selling branding books, How To Style Your Brand and Brand Brilliance.

Derek is the founder of Ditto. Bringing with him the experience of a career spanning three decades in the design industry, he’s worked with some of the very biggest names around – as well as many of the newest, most enthusiastic start-ups. He worked as a freelance graphic designer since graduating from Ravensbourne College, and launched Ditto in 2003 to bring his entrepreneurial approach to smaller businesses. He’s made a great deal of bold moves along the way that have driven the business to where we are today, and his personal values of honesty, respect and hard work have shaped Ditto entirely. Derek is an exceptionally talented illustrator and a brilliant photographer and has recently launched our online shop, From The Oast, where you can browse and buy a selection of his work.

Don’t let appearances fool you; our shaved head-ed, tattooed Dan is a real softie. Dan is an incredibly talented and dedicated designer. Happiest behind the scenes (taking this photo was an act of torture), he works quietly, consistently and intentionally to create the most beautiful brand identities. While he cut his teeth in designing for print, his flair for brand design has put Ditto on the map. He has a passion (borderline obsession) for typography and hand lettering, and has a precision eye for colour and balance. The creativity and flair he brings to the table enables us to deliver exceptional brand designs with a trademark style.

While the guys have had the benefit of someone else writing their bio for them, I have not. And since writing a ‘reasons why I’m great’ piece is so not my thing, I’m going to speak honestly. I adore working with people. Driven by an undying curiosity, I have an insatiable appetite for learning the story behind a brand. What motivated you to start your business? Why did you decide to call it that? How did you learn to do that so brilliantly? I believe you can’t possibly create a powerful brand without asking the right questions and, more importantly, listening to the answers. As a creative director, I work with awesome people to help them see their businesses differently and communicate in a way that makes them irresistible. I know exactly what your business needs to look like in order to attract attention. I can bring out the best of your brand and tell the story of your business in a way that’ll have your customers – and you – falling in love with it.
