Inspired by... Rob Ryan
Being in the creative industry, it's in my blood (in a very literal sense - my Dad has umpteen years of art and creative graphic design which has been passed on) to look for inspiration in everything around me. Without wanting to wax lyrical about the beauty of the world around us, at Ditto we find ourselves drawing inspiration from the most bizarre sources. I love to surround myself with things that provoke thought and spark ideas that I can carry through to our work - just one of the things we all do here to stay aware of trends and how that impacts on corporate work. With this in mind, I'm going to dedicate a regular spot on the blog to the things which inspire us to get creative. One of my favourite items at the moment are these mugs, printed with quirky designs by British contemporary papercut artist, Rob Ryan. It was the words that caught my eye originally 'All of these words are worth less than the breath used to say them if we cannot be together', split accross the two mugs. I love his style, his use of colour - not two colours I'm usually drawn to, but they compliment each other beautifully - and above all, the romantic notion that the design doesn't 'work' without both mugs being together. Makes me smile every morning when I make myself and the other half a cuppa. Just beautiful.
