Proud to Present: An elegant and gorgous brand for fashion stylist, Miranda Holder
Miranda Holder is a non-stop, beyond-energetic, steam train of a person! The girl just don't stop. Every inch the glamazon that you'd expect, and the owner of a hootingly brilliant laugh, I adore Miranda. She's brilliantly funny, incomprehensibly stylish and bang on trend, every single time. Which is just as well - she's a high end personal stylist who means business.
Miranda Holder will offer a range of services, including personal styling, wardrobe edits, colour analysis, personal shopping, make up edits and beauty advice. She does not believe in doing things by halves, and while her business is still in its infancy, she knows where she wants to go: delivering a high end, luxury service that’s designed to make clients look and feel incredible.
Our goal was to create a luxury, exclusive brand which is aspirational, beautiful and which clients can’t wait to be a part of. It should be high end, but not aloof – we didn’t want Miranda's people to feel that she's unobtainable – but rather the stylish best friend that they want to take everywhere with them; an indispensable guru and an authority figure who people are quick to trust and feel at ease with. I'd definitely pop Miranda in my pocke and take her shopping with me if I could!
This is not a brand driven by vanity, but one which is motivated by a sense of empowerment, strength and confidence.
The season personality
Miranda Holder is nothing if not dramatic! The drama and high end, opulent and glamour of the world of fashion combined with the sense of syle, quality and elegance of her approach meant that there was only one combo that'd represent her brand: Winter and Summer.
Winter personalities are strong, distinctive and uncompromising. They’re experts at what they do and are driven to always do the very best that they can; second best doesn’t feature in their vocabulary. Their strength and certainty makes them a compelling proposition and they command attention wherever they go.
Summer personalities, meanwhile, are a more gentle being. They share the lack of quality, luxury and precision that Winters possess, but they’re altogether more balanced, perceptive and intuitive. They’re incredibly observant and able to adapt to any given situation by reading the mood – something that a pure Winter character would be too headstrong to detect.
The brand
As we created this brand, we’ve considered not only the season personality and the style guidelines that they provide, but also the desire to create a brand which is timeless and allows plenty of room to grow. There’s a simplicity, beauty, strength and confidence to this brand that I absolutely love.
We’ve found that stylists’ brands are often quite formulaic – to the point where there’s nothing distinctive about one brand over the next. This will simply not do for Miranda. We’ve been inspired by the strength and drama of Winter; geometric shapes, high contrast serifs and minimal typography. The influence of the Summer personality is what makes this brand more distinctive and with a luxury edge; it brings a softness and grace which feels beautiful and aspirational.
From a design perspective, Summer and Winter pair very well together. Geometric patterns which signify strength are softened by rambling hand rendered script fonts that add a sense of authenticity, individuality and approachability.
You’ll notice that there’s a lot of white within the brand, and that we’ve intentionally laid images over each other for an offset, slightly edgy feel. This has been very deliberate; it breaks the rules and tells the world that we do things our own way.
Having debated the idea of bold colours, we shelved that idea in favour of a neutral palette which will endure beyond the current trends and provide a constant backdrop to whatever latest style that fashion has to offer. This palette of elegant neutrals, inspired by the beautiful marble in the vision board, will allow photography to take centre stage.
Miranda tentatively put her instagram account live on Friday and has been going great guns ever since! I'm so proud of her - she's connecting with people left, right and centre and has already got some insanely exciting projects up her sleeve which I'm sure I'll be able to share with you once we launch her website!
